While cold forming operation, mechanical pressure is applying on the laminate for forming the required cavity. This mechanical pressure is first hitting on the pvc for formation of the cavity. In such cases the PVC should absorb the mechanical pressure without transferring the stress to aluminium which is below the PVC. Impact strength will play the crucial role  and the flexibility of the PVC also important while forming the cavity in the laminate.
